Cold temperatures are here and that means that the annual Coats for Kids campaign is underway in Greater Cleveland.
One way to support this effort is to stop by a Discount Drug Mart before December 4 and buy a $1 “paper coat” from the cashier. One hundred percent of proceeds will go to Coats for Kids, which provides warm coats for children who can’t afford them.
Or, you can donate new or gently used winter coats for children in need. WKYC is a sponsor of this annual collection drive and you can drop off coats right here in our lobby at 1333 Lakeside Avenue East in downtown Cleveland.
There are many other donation locations including:
- Malls including Crocker Park, Eton, Great Lakes, Great Northern, Legacy Village, Midway & South Park
- Howard Hanna Real Estate offices
- Petitti Garden Centers
- Quaker Steak & Lube
Financial donations are also welcomed. Recently, Coats for Kids was able to give a new coat to every student at Harrison Elementary School in Lakewood thanks to a generous gift from The Figgie Foundation and Clark-Reliance Corporation.
