As the state of Ohio continues its fight against the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the City of Beachwood is going the extra mile to assist its residents.

On Monday, the City announced that it would be providing free "COVID care packages" to residents experiencing a "significant financial hardship."

“We wish we could provide packages for everyone, but we must limit this to those in need,” said Community Services Director Derek Schroeder. “For those needing help now, we hope this provides not only tangible assistance but a good feeling that someone cares for their well-being.”

The Beachwood COVID Care Packages include:

  • Masks donated from the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (courtesy Councilwoman June Taylor)
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Surface-Sanitizing Wipes
  • Soap
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Towels
  • Tissues
  •  Can of Chicken Noodle soup

“My administration and our City Council have shared concerns that COVID-related joblessness and health issues have pushed some residents to the brink,” said Mayor Martin Horwitz. “We are here to assist those in need of a helping hand during this difficult COVID winter.”

Residents experiencing financial hardship may request a COVID Care Package for pick-up from Beachwood Community Services at 216-292-1970.
