Police in Columbus find 4-month-old boy, stolen SUV that led to AMBER Alert

The boy was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police have found a 3-month-old boy safe in an SUV after it was taken from the KinderCare Learning Center on Tamarack Circle on Tuesday morning.

Alpha Kamara's mother, Borofa, was dropping off her two children at the daycare and the vehicle was stolen by two men as she was walking into the building with the first child, according to police.

Borofa Kamara told police she saw the two men take off with her car, but didn't know who they were.

Police said Alpha Kamara and the vehicle were later found near Ohio Avenue and Hildreth Avenue.

Columbus Division of Police Deputy Chief Tim Becker said two young women spotted the vehicle and called police.

Alpha Kamara was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital as a precaution.

Police have not released additional suspect information.

Borofa Kamara spoke with 10TV and said she is thankful for the support of strangers.

"I appreciate everybody being out there today - finding my baby," she said.

Columbus police will continue to investigate the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Columbus police at 614-645-4545.
