Kent State's Delta Tau Delta fraternity chapter suspended amid investigation

The specifics of the allegations are not known at this time.

A fraternity chapter at Kent State University has been ordered to suspend all activities following allegations of "conduct disruptive to the university."

Delta Tau Delta confirmed Wednesday it has issued a cease and desist notice to its KSU chapter, saying it is conducting an internal review. The university followed suit Thursday with its own demand that the chapter suspend all fraternity activities until further notice.

The specifics of the allegations are not known at this time. Delta Tau Delta says it and the chapter "are working in partner with the Kent State University administration on this matter," adding the suspension would be lifted following completion of the investigation.

The KSU chapter of Delta Tau Delta previously made headlines last fall when it hung up a sign to raise awareness of sexual assault and the #MeToo movement. The city of Kent forced the fraternity to take down the original sign due to an alleged violation of being too large, but members responded with a new sign containing the same message.
