Windham schools superintendent placed on leave during investigation of alleged 'professional misconduct'

It is still unknown what the allegations specifically entail.

Windham Exempted Village Schools Superintendent Laura Amero has been placed on paid administrative leave while police investigate allegations of "professional misconduct."

It is still unknown what the allegations specifically entail. Authorities say no charges have been filed at this time, and that "all parties involved are currently cooperating, to ensure that a comprehensive and accurate investigation can be completed."

Amero has been on the job for less than two months. The school district says the retired Gregg Isler, Amero's predecessor, will take over as acting superintendent effective immediately.
