Shaker Heights police urging residents to 'use caution' while driving in the area due to heavy power outages

Officials say that they are working hard to restore power in the area.

The Shaker Heights Police Department is urging drivers to be cautious if they are headed out on the road due to power outages in the area. 

The police department sent out a notification to residents via Twitter Sunday morning warning them of the outages and possible trouble that may be caused.

"We are experiencing significant power outage issues, mostly west of Lee Road," the Shaker Heights Police Department wrote in a statement on Twitter. "Please use caution traveling on City streets.   Treat all blinking lights and inoperable traffic signals as four way stops.  Utility companies are working hard to restore the power."
