A local freight company is giving away 40,000 pounds of cucumbers after an issue surfaced during the shipment process.

NORTH LAWRENCE, Ohio -- The company says they're "in a real pickle."

A local freight company is giving away 40,000 pounds of cucumbers after an issue surfaced during the shipment process.

Freightway Transportation Services in Massillon said the load was "refused due to boxes shifting during shipping."

The company is giving away free cucumbers Wednesday and Thursday between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2275 Manchester Road NW in North Lawrence.

The Akron-Canton Foodbank has reached out to the company and are working on plans to help store and distribute the vegetables for those in need.
