Need a good stretch? We explore the new StretchLab in Rocky River

The one-on-one assisted stretching boutique focuses on stretches from basic to advanced to ease pain and relieve pressure.

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — Summer is in full swing, and so many of us are traveling this season -- and this means you may be experiencing long car rides or flights that can leave you feeling stiff and sore.

The new StretchLab in Rocky River aims to help with those tense travel woes.

The one-on-one assisted stretching franchise boutique focuses on the best stretches from basic to advanced to ease your pain and relieve pressure.

Here are a few stretches they can suggest to viewers to do while traveling to keep the body from getting tense:

  1. Lower back -- Sit upright with your shoulders back. Slowly rotate your shoulders to the left. Use your right hand on the outside of your left knee to further extend the stretch. Slowly come back to center, and then rotate to the right. This time use your left hand on the outside of your right knee to further extend the stretch.
  2. Chest & shoulders – Interlock your fingers and reach up above your head. Gently push your hands and elbows backward. Don’t forget to include a few deep breaths and a couple of ankle rotations. You’ll feel a lot better for it.
  3. Hips & legs – Bend your right knee and place your left ankle on it, creating a “four” with your legs. Slowly fold at the hips while keeping your left foot flexed. Take a couple deep breaths while in this position before repeating on the opposite side.

"Some clients are looking to improve their sports performance, some are looking to decrease joint pain and others simply just want a great stretch. No matter what brings you into StretchLab – the benefits of a professional assisted stretching routine are tremendous," says franchise owner Jeanne Fuelling.

StretchLab Rocky River held its grand opening last weekend.
