Driver wanted for attempting to strike Summit County deputies

GREEN, Ohio — Summit County authorities are searching for the suspect wanted for attempting to run over a pair of deputies in Green last weekend.

According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home on West Glenridge in Green on Saturday for a domestic violence call. When they arrived, 39-year-old Christopher Hoover fled the area in a vehicle. A short pursuit followed, which was ended for public safety purposes. 

Deputies went back to the scene to conduct further investigation. Hoover also went back to the house, then attempted to run over two of the deputies in the roadways with his vehicle. The deputies were able to avoid being struck, but Hoover again fled the scene.

A warrant has been taken out for Christopher Hoover charging him with domestic violence, attempted felonious assault on a peace officer (2 counts), and failure to comly with order or signal of police officer.
