Historic Cuyahoga Falls Theater reimagined as entertainment center The Workz

It was 30 years in the making, but the Falls Theater now has a new look -- and concept.

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — It started with a vision a few years back. Tim Frankish and his family members saw the historic Falls Theater, vacant for nearly 30 years, as something else: And entertainment center for families.

"Once we saw the floor plan, once we saw the attractions, we fell in love with the look, the location. And in downtown Cuyahoga Falls, it's beautiful down here, there's so much to do," Frankish said.

"There is finally a safe, fun space for families to come out and enjoy an evening out. To play games, to bowl, to have some phenomenal food, and just to get out of the house finally," Frankish told us.

A little bit for everyone, The Workz features Duckpin bowling, an arcade and virtual reality games. Plus, a full-service restaurant.

And, opening soon? A speakeasy, featuring some old, classic drinks.

"We've got really unique cocktails, really good, small plates of food. You know, just a different atmosphere and different vibe," Frankish said.

Safety is a top priority. Employees regularly clean the arcade, bowling and virtual reality games area, and there are hand sanitizer stations all around the building.

"Also, we're following all the state guidelines for barriers, limited capacity, things of that nature," Frankish said.

It's a family business, proud of reimagining history here in Cuyahoga Falls.

"The community has been unbelievably supportive. Every time I walk in here, I get excited," Frankish said.
