Macedonia mayor charged for domestic violence incident with girlfriend in Florida

He was arrested for battery.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Macedonia Mayor Joseph Migliorini was arrested and charged for a domestic violence incident that took place with his girlfriend in Florida in April.

According to a police report, officers were called to Seasons 52, a restaurant in the Juno Ridge area of Palm Beach Gardens, on April 27 around 2:33 p.m.

A 44-year-old woman at the restaurant told police her boyfriend, identified as Migliorini, dropped her off for a business meeting. When he returned, she says she told him her meeting was not finished and turned to reenter the building. As she did so, Migliorini allegedly grabbed her by the hair and pulled her backward, spinning her around to face him before slapping her across the face.

The report says the woman broke free from Migliorini, who began cursing at her and berating her in front of witnesses. The woman fled inside the restaurant and police were called.

Upon learning police were summoned, Migliorini reportedly fled from the restaurant and was later located at the PGA Marina.

Migliorini was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of battery. His Palm Beach Gardens address is listed as the same as his girlfriend's.

Court documents state that Migliorini was arraigned May 29.

Migliorini, 65, first served as mayor of Macedonia from 1988 to 2001. He was re-elected in 2015.
