Threats of violence found on social media directed at Mogadore High School: What police are saying

'We will continue to track down the origins of this conversation and will charge those responsible for it,' the Mogadore Police Department said in a statement.

MOGADORE, Ohio — The Mogadore Police Department is investigating after their department “was provided a screenshot of a conversation from a student indicating planned violence at the high school” on Thursday.

The police department said they are investigating the origins of the conversation.

“The student who is portrayed as the person having this conversation is cooperating in our investigation along with his parents,” according to a Facebook post from the Mogadore Police Department. “This student does not have the means to post or create conversations on social media at the specific time indicated on the social media account. We will continue to track down the origins of this conversation and will charge those responsible for it. Our investigation remains ongoing, but has not revealed a credible threat to the safety of those going to school tomorrow.”
