NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio — The New Franklin Fire Department (NFFD) and state fire officials are investigating the cause of a commercial fire on West Turkeyfoot Lake Road overnight.

NFFD responded just before 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, after a passerby noticed the fire and called 911 saying, "the whole business was on fire." When the department got to the scene shortly after, they witnessed fire coming up through the roof of the building.

Firefighters were only able to fight the fire from the outside.

Seven other local fire departments also responded, helping to save the office portion of the building. New Franklin Fire Department called the rest of the building, "a total loss."
