SAGAMORE HILLS, Ohio — Three people were taken to the hospital following a car crash Friday afternoon in Sagamore Hills.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Nissan Juke being driven by a 19-year-old Akron woman was headed east on State Route 82 near Pine Hill Road when it went left of the center line and slammed head-on into a Dodge Durango around 3:50 p.m. The Nissan spun out before stopping in the middle of the street, while the Dodge went off the south side of the pavement and case to rest on the grassy shoulder.

The teen and the two occupants of the Dodge were all rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. While both drivers were described as having "moderate" injuries, the passenger of the Dodge is currently in critical condition. He has been identified as a 24-year-old man from New York state.

While authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, they do say both the driver and the passenger of the Dodge were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision. The driver of the Nissan was buckled up.

No charges have been filed at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
