Tyson Foods expanding Amherst plant, hiring 200 new employees

The company has recently infused more than $20 million into the Cooper's Point development

AMHERST, Ohio — Tyson Foods is bringing new jobs to Ohio. 

The Chronicle is reporting that the popular food company has announced plans to expand and add as many as 200 new jobs to their Amherst location. 

"We are very excited to grow in Amherst,” plant manager Brandy Shaw told The Chronicle in an interview. “We already employ 525 people in the facility and are looking forward to adding more team members to our Tyson family. We take great pride in being a positive member of this community.”

Shaw said that the new jobs are required to help meet the high demand of food-needs throughout the company.
