Thousands in Washington, Northeast Ohio take part in 'March for Our Lives'

As part of our coverage, we will be live streaming from both Washington, D.C., and around Northeast Ohio beginning at 10 a.m.

On Saturday, thousands of Americans students, teachers, and others descended on Washington, D.C., for the "March for Our Lives," a demonstration supporting tougher gun and safety laws in the wake of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting and numerous others through the years.

Besides the big event in the nation's capitol, more than 800 smaller events took place across the country, including right here in Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Medina, and Avon Lake.

WKYC has been offering full coverage on our morning, evening, and late night newscasts, including live from Washington with reporters Jasmine Monroe and Amani Abraham and students and teachers who traveled there from schools in our area.

In addition, we live-streamed the sights and sounds of the day from Cleveland and Akron beginning on both WKYC.com and our Facebook page.

Our sister station WUSA in D.C. also provided extensive coverage of the event.
