You've probably seen actress Francia Raisa before, the new face on Freeform's series Grown-ish — but who is she?

Here's everything we know about her.

She's American with Latin roots.

Although Raisa, 29, was born in Los Angeles, her parents are both Hispanic. Her father, Renán Almendárez Coello, is a radio personality from Honduras and her mother, Virginia Almendarez, is Mexican.

She's worked in TV and film.

You may recognize Raisa from her TV and movie projects. She played Adrian Lee in the ABC Family hit series The Secret Life of the American Teenager  and played Leti in the 2006  film Bring It On: All or Nothing.

Raisa has also starred in a few episodes of Dear White People and one episode of The Mindy Project.

Currently, she stars in the Black-ish spin-off Grown-ish (on Freeform now) as the very religious Ana Torres, who is one of the first friends lead character Zoey (Yara Shahidi) makes and who (mild spoiler!) becomes her roommate at the end of the pilot.

Raisa has also won a 2011 Gracie award and a La Femme Film Festival Rising Star award in 2012, both for her role in American Teenager.

She's friends with Selena Gomez.

If donating a kidney didn't already prove it — Selena Gomez and Raisa are close. In September 2017, Gomez revealed she had a kidney transplant as part of lupus treatment, and her donor was Francia Raisa.

Raisa has referred to Gomez as a "forever friend" and even "sis" in her Instagram posts.

I went through heartbreak this year and you left the studio and drove out of your way to come see me and comfort me. I received good news last month and you facetimed me minutes before you went up on stage just to congratulate me. There are so many moments we have and things you do that I cherish and don't take for granted. Wether its crying, laughing, or simply sitting on my kitchen floor throwing our hands up in the air confused at life, I'm thankful you're always there. I am obsessed with every memory we've built in the last 8 years and the ones we have yet to create. I am so grateful that God put you in my life when he did. If you think about the time that we met and where we were in our lives when we first hung out, his timing was perfect. It's been so inspiring watching you grow and to grow with you. I learn so much from you and I'm so so so proud of you. Happy Birthday Hermana. Love you so so so much @selenagomez

In an Instagram post about her kidney surgery, Gomez gave Raisa a shout-out in her lengthy caption, calling her a "beautiful friend."

I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made. In a 2013 interview with Latina, Raisa revealed the two met in 2007 and hit it off.

"Six years ago, Disney and ABC Family had the stars of their shows go to the Children's Hospital," she said. "Selena and I were in the same group, and we just clicked."

She hangs out with other stars, too.

As an actress, she's obviously around other actors and actresses. Who are some celebrities on her friend list?

Here she is in a selfie with Grown-ish co-star Shahidi.

Raisa also posed next to Ashley Tisdale recently in an Instagram group photo.

She's vocal.

Raisa is not afraid to speak up, from her thoughts on Bachelor in Paradise to politics.

Recently, she tweeted about Trump's comments on ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, writing half in English and half in Spanish.

"I'm at a loss for words," she wrote. "This is not right."
