Ohio State commit Alonzo Gaffney officially transfers to Brewster Academy

Garfield Heights star forward Alonzo Gaffney has officially transferred to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire for his senior year of high school, according to his father Kevin.

Kevin Gaffney also said his son's commitment to the Buckeyes remains "strong".

In the last 24 hours, the New Hampshire high school has landed three top players including Alonzo Gaffney. Five-star basketball recruit Terrence Clarke from Massachusetts and five-star shooting guard Jalen Lecque from North Carolina also announced their decision to play for Brewster Academy.

This prep powerhouse is no stranger to top talent in the pros. Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, NBA player and Cleveland native JaKarr Sampson and former Michigan star Mitch McGary all attended Brewster Academy.

Gaffney averaged 18.2 points and 9 rebounds for the Bulldogs last season. The 6'9 power forward verbally committed to the Buckeyes in April.
