Eric Trump urges voters to keep Republicans in power during Stark County campaign rally

The political battle is heating up.

CANTON, Ohio -- With only a few days left before voters hit the polls in next week’s midterm election, Ohio has become a hot spot for political campaigns.

President Donald Trump’s son, Eric, is the latest visitor to Northeast Ohio pushing for GOP support.

He spent part of his Friday morning in at Peoples Services Canton alongside Republican candidates Jim Renacci and Bob Gibbs for a "Get out the vote" event. He also later went on a "small business tour" at Advanced Industrial Roofing in Massillon.

"Are you guys tired of winning yet?" Eric Trump asked the excited crowd after he was introduced in Canton.

The audience shouted a resounding, "NO!"

Throughout his 12-minute speech he urged voters to keep Republicans in power.

"You see what the left tries to do every single day. They have no message. They have no platform. They have no leadership. They want resist. They want to obstruct. They want to raise everybody's taxes. They want to go after and crucify law enforcement. It's truly incredible."

He continued...

"Then on the opposite side you see somebody who can be a great cheerleader for this country -- who is a practical person, who does not need the job. Neither of these guys [Renacci and Gibbs], by the way, need the job. You need a lot more people in Washington D.C. who don't need the job, who are doing it because it's the right thing to do because they can make real change."

He also talked about the current economy and unemployment levels.

"We have the lowest unemployment we've ever seen in this country. We have 3.7 percent unemployment. We have the lowest African American unemployment. We have the lowest Hispanic unemployment. We have the lowest female unemployment. We have the lowest youth unemployment."

His comments then reverted back to the Democrats.

"They want to resist and obstruct and defame. They want to hurt people. You saw what they did to Kavanaugh. They want to destroy families. They don't care what it takes so long as they stay in power. And guys, they're pissed off. They're pissed off because we are winning and we are winning every single day. We're getting our country back. We're saving our guns. We're saving our religious liberty. Two years ago you couldn't say 'merry Christmas.' Guess what? We're saying 'merry Christmas' again."

He also vowed his father will win the presidential election again in 2020.

"I really believe that my father has accomplished more in the last two years than any president has in history."

Meanwhile, President Trump himself will speak at the I-X Center in Cleveland on Monday as part of a whirlwind schedule of 11 campaign rallies.
