Primary Election Day 2020: What you need to know

The polls were supposed to be open on St. Patrick's Day, but were closed due to coronavirus concerns.

CLEVELAND — More than a month after Ohio's in-person voting was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, results of the 2020 primary election are expected Tuesday.

Mail-in ballots have been accepted as an alternative voting method for the last few weeks -- and the deadline to have them postmarked was Monday.

So what can you expect today? We break it down below...

WHEN CAN I VOTE?

If you were hoping to cast a mail-in ballot, it had to be postmarked by Monday, April 27 in order to be accepted in this election. If you forgot to mail your ballot, you can drop it off at your local Board of Elections -- but you must have it there by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for it to be valid.

CAN I STILL VOTE IN PERSON?

Sorry, but polls will NOT be operating like a standard election. There will be limited in-person voting available Tuesday, but only for people with disabilities who require in-person voting and those who do not have a home mailing address. You can read more about that HERE.

WHAT RACES ARE ON MY BALLOT?

What issues are impacting your area? There are a handful of school levies within the community, and you get to select which presidential candidate you're supporting for the upcoming November election. CLICK HERE to see a sample of your local ballot so you can study up before the results start coming in. Among the school levies to watch for include: Willoughby-Eastlake, Euclid, Parma and Cleveland Heights-University Heights.

WHAT TIME WILL RESULTS COME IN?

We expect to see results start arriving after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
