House Speaker Paul Ryan must not have a great understanding of sports rivalries.
Why else would he have made a decision to wave a Pittsburgh Steelers' "Terrible Towel" around at a Cleveland event during the Republican National Convention?
To be fair, the event was a breakfast gathering for Pennsylvania delegates, and someone in the crowd gave Ryan the towel.
But Philadelphia Eagles fans were not represented. Neither were Cleveland Browns fans.
Ryan also went on to note that his Green Bay Packers will see the Steelers in the Super Bowl.
Perhaps a week in Cleveland will give Ryan a better understanding of what it means to be in Browns' town. And hopefully he never waves a Red Sox towel around in a Bronx bar.
