Entry deadline for Shining Star CLE singing competition set for June 30th

High school students have the opportunity to win $10,000 in the annual singing competition, but the entry deadline is fast approaching.

CLEVELAND — Attention high school singers! Shining Star CLE 2022 is back and going LIVE again for the first time in two years!

But the deadline to enter is coming fast!

The program benefits memory care programs at Menorah Park and the Menorah Park Foundation will produce the sixth annual Shining Star CLE, solo-singing competition.

The live show will take place Sunday, September 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the Mimi Ohio Theater at Playhouse Square.

Virtual auditions end Thursday, June 30th 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

High school students in grades 9 – 12 (as of August 2022) are eligible to enter from the following counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit or Wayne counties (home schooled as well).

All genres of music are accepted. A total of $21,000 in prizes will be awarded including a $10,000 First place scholarship prize. 

The contest is judged by celebrities with connections to music and entertainment industries as well as the audience.

Local musician and WKYC Senior Health Correspondent Monica Robins returns as host.
