The LeBron James Family Foundation is continuing its support for local children, offering free eye exams to students at Akron's I PROMISE School on Sunday.

Through a partnership with Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons (NEOES), hundreds of students and their family's went to the organization's Akron/Fairlawn location to be tested and, if necessary, select from more than a hundred frames to get new glasses. The frames will then be hand delivered to the school when they are ready so they can be properly fitted on site.

Said NEOES COO Dr. Katie Greiner:

"Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons is happy to partner with the LeBron James Family Foundation to provide comprehensive eye examinations to the I PROMISE children and their families. Vision is crucial to learning and future successes. 80% of learning comes through the visual system so to be able to give these children improved vision for their future schooling and careers can make all the difference."

Nearly a dozen ophthalmologists participated in the event, which also featured activities and videos about eye health and safety as well as giveaways of things like UV protectant sunwear.
