MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — A man is in custody following the shooting death of a laundromat employee Monday, Maple Heights police confirm.
31-year-old Carl Sanders was arrested shortly after the shooting and now faces charges of aggravated murder and having a weapon under disability.
Sanders is accused of shooting and killing 73-year-old David Brown after an altercation at Wash-N-Dry Laundromat on Broadway Avenue, where Brown was employed.
Police reports indicate that Sanders was assaulting women at the facility when Brown intervened before being shot twice by Sanders.
Brown pronounced dead at the scene.
Sanders is currently being held at Cuyahoga County jail, he could face additional charges.
