Suspect, employee exchange fire during robbery attempt at Cleveland pizza shop

Both were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.

UPDATE (4/21): According to a police report, three men attempted to rob the Little Caesar's on Harvard Ave. before engaging in a shootout with one of the employees.

Three store employees told police that three men wearing facemasks and holding handguns came into the store and ordered them to open the cash registers and give them the money. A fourth employee, William Abercrombie, later told police that the suspects grabbed him and pulled him toward the register and whispered to him that he better open it up. It was at this point that Abercrombie, who said he feared for his life, pulled out his own firearm, which he shot 3-4 times.

Abercrombie then said he ran from the store in an attempt to draw the suspects outside and proceeded to hide behind his car in an adjacent parking lot. While hiding, he said he heard the three suspects run outside with one yelling "He shot me!" before disappearing out of sight.

Security camera footage collaborated Abercrombie's recollection of events. It also showed the suspects using female employees as human shields while firing shots at -- and striking -- Abercrombie, and one of the suspects limping/jumping on his left leg with a possibly severely injured right leg.

Abercrombie then drove himself METRO Hospital to seek treatment for a confirmed gunshot wound on his left arm. In the same timeframe, another man named Martez Gordon was dropped off at Saint Vincent Hospital before being transferred to METRO with gunshots in both legs, including a severely damaged right shin/ankle.

Gordon told police he suffered the gunshots during a dice game outside an apartment complex under vague circumstances. A police report lists him as Suspect #2 in the Little Caesar's robbery. He has been arrested as a result of the incident.

The suspects are described as the following:

Suspect # 1: Light skinned male, wearing a light gray hoodie with a blue t-shirt sticking out of the bottom, dark pants, black shoes, white gloves, and brandishing a black/dark colored handgun.

Suspect #2: Black male, wearing black hoodie, torn blue jeans, brown belt, black shoes, white gloves, and brandishing a silver handgun.

Suspect #3: Black male, wearing black hoodie with white strings, gray half face mask, dark pants, black and gray shoes, white gloves, and carrying a black garbage bag.
