Get ready to see high school students attempt to "stay afloat."

For the 17th time, Lakewood High School is hosting its annual "Cardboard Boat Regatta." Sponsored by Tavens Packaging and Display Solutions, the event asked junior and senior physics student to construct a boat over five weeks using only untreated brown cardboard.

Each boat must be able to hold two "frantically paddling students" as they make their way across the high school's 25-yard-long pool. According to the school, the success rate is usually around 50 percent.

Along with students, other teacher and club entries will also be featured.
