'Avocado hand' : How to avoid a trending injury

Whether your love to eat them daily or use them in your festive menus, doctors have a warning for those who are cutting up avocados. 

According to "avocado hand" is on the rise.

For those unfamiliar, "Avocado Hand" occurs when you cut your had while trying to remove the pit of an avocado. 

OUCH!

According to Insider, data shows that 8,900 avocado-related hospital visits were reported in 2018, equating to more than 160 per week, and approximately 24 per day nationwide. 

Let's take a move in the ~ ripe~ direction.

To avoid becoming a statistic, check out these tips on how to properly remove an avocado pit. 

  1. Cut avocados on a cutting board and not in your hand. 
  2. Rotate it 90 degrees and make the same cut
  3. It should then fall apart into even wedges and you can remove the pit with no knife.
