Two area couples prepare for winter storm weddings

Brides take it in stride as major snowstorm threatens wedding day.

CLEVELAND- While many are preparing to bunker down and just stay indoors during this winter storm, others are actually preparing for a big day of celebration.

While I’m not sure this is what Billy Idol had in mind when he sang that “it’s a great day for a white wedding,” several bridal parties are going to find out.

“Of course Ohio picks this weekend to be Ohio and give us all of winter in one day,” says Kaylee Sandor, soon to be Hershberger. She’s getting married Saturday after they moved the wedding to January so the groom’s brother, who’s in the military, could be there.

Kaylee says, “We did have some cancellations. My grandparents from South Carolina cancelled because of the flights, 2 aunts cancelled and some we’re not sure about yet, so we’ll find out.”

Kaylee isn’t alone in her radar watching. Also walking down the aisle in Saturday’s snow storm is Montanna Studer, soon to be Bubenheim.

Montanna says, “I feel like all my planning has gone to waste.”

They were planning a destination wedding then decided to keep it local and just kept the date. Lucky for her, most of the family and guest are either close by or have already flown in, with a few exceptions.

“It’s going to go on, you know. We have trucks. We have four-wheel drive. We’re going to be at the church no matter what,” says Montanna.

Both brides say they know there’s only a few people that really need to be there for their special day and they’re not going to let a little snow, rain on their parade.

Montanna says, “As long as he’s there and we’re there, it’s all going to work out.”

“If it’s just us two and the officiant, we’re doing this,” says Kaylee.

UPDATE: Montanna sent our Megan Gallagher this photo of her and new husband Chuck as they braved the elements for their wedding on Saturday!
