From Dolly Parton to Cedar Point, there were plenty of stories that touched our region over the past year.

CLEVELAND — Northeast Ohio certainly had its fair share of headlines throughout 2022, including from the entertainment world.

5. New football-themed waterpark coming to Canton

As Canton's Pro Football Hall of Fame Village continues to take shape, officials in December broke ground on what will be a 147,000-square-foot indoor waterpark that will feature a water slide tower, lazy river, wave pool, zero-entry fun zone, swim-up bar, and outdoor entertainment area. The theme is.. well, football!

4. Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker visit Cleveland Vegan in Lakewood

3. Cedar Point announces adults-only after-hours event for guests ages 21 and older: Wild Frontier Nights

This season, one of the nation's most-popular amusement parks introduced a new event to its roster. "Wild Frontier Nights" featured everything from "hearty tastes from the chef’s private recipe collection, hand-crafted cocktails you can’t sip anywhere else, boot-scootin’ live music, dancing, bull riding and fun event-only activities for adults." All tickets also bought unlimited access to some rides.

2. Bruno Mars serves shots at Cleveland bar

Patrons at Rum Runners in the Flats were treated to an unexpected surprise in July when Bruno Mars was behind the bar serving them drinks. The gimmick was part of an apparent promotion for SelvaRay, and the popstar earned praise as the "best bartender in Ohio."

1. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: Dolly Parton will remain potential 2022 inductee after announcing she decided to 'bow out'

Music legend Dolly Parton sent shockwaves across the nation over the winter when she requested her name be removed from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominating process, feeling she hadn't "earned that right." However, the museum subsequently refused her request, lauding "her incredible talent as an artist" and "her humility." Eventually, Parton was elected and attended her induction.
