CLEVELAND -- It has been a rough 24 hours for Cleveland sports coaches, but the Cleveland Indians provided a little bit of levity to the situation on social media Monday.

Prior to Sunday’s game between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced the firing of coach Tyronn Lue, who started the 2018-2019 season with an 0-6 record.

Then, less than a day after the Browns suffered a 33-18 loss to the Steelers Sunday, the front office reportedly dismissed coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley and is considering Al Saunders to become the interim head coach.

While the other two professional teams in town were going through coaching changes, the Indians provided a humorous update on the status of manager Terry Francona.

“We appreciate everyone’s concern…Future Hall of Famer Terry Francona will be at Tribe Fest on January 12. #RallyTogether”

In six years with the Indians, Francona has compiled a 545-425 record (.562 winning percentage) with four playoff appearances, three straight American League Central Division championships and a trip to the 2016 World Series, where Cleveland pushed the Chicago Cubs to extra innings in Game 7.

The Indians will begin pursuit of their fourth consecutive AL Central Division Championship when they open the 2019 regular season against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in Minneapolis on March 28. The Indians will celebrate the 25th home opener at Progressive Field against the Chicago White Sox on Monday, April 1.
