The Ohio State Buckeyes landed a verbal commitment from the No. 1 receiver in the Class of 2020, Julian Fleming out of Pennsylvania.

Ryan Day may be in his first season as the head football coach at The Ohio State University, but he is hitting the ground running when it comes to recruiting, and that effort on the trail has resulted in a commitment from the nation’s No. 1 ranked wide receiver in the Class of 2020.

Julian Fleming, a five-star prospect out of Catawissa Southern Columbia High School in Pennsylvania, announced his college choice in a video shared on Twitter Friday morning. Prior to his commitment to Ohio State, Fleming reportedly considered Clemson, Penn State, Georgia and Alabama.

“When you see me, you see a five-star prospect,” Fleming said in the video. “You see a can’t-miss football player. You see someone that’s been given advantages because of my size, my speed and my potential. You see someone who could help your favorite team.

“But I am more than just a football player. I am a son, I’m a brother, and I’m working to become a man. I work when nobody else is looking so I can be everything I’m destined to become for me, my family, no one else.”

“To you, I am a football player,” Fleming continued. “To you, home is a place. To me, home is a field. To me, Ohio State is home. Go Bucks!”

In three prep seasons, Fleming turned 183 catches into 3,942 yards and 55 touchdowns.

During his junior season, Fleming collected 78 receptions for 1,524 yards and 22 touchdowns, all single-year bests for the 6-foot-2, 200-pound receiver. Fleming led his high school to an undefeated 16-0 record and the Class 2A State Championship on the way to being named the 2018-2019 Gatorade Pennsylvania Football Player of the Year.
