Ohio State WR K.J. Hill returning to school for senior season

Hill caught 70 receptions for 885 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2018.

One day after Dwayne Haskins announced that he's headed to the NFL, one of Ohio State's top pass-catchers revealed he'll be back on campus in 2019.

In a post on Twitter, wide receiver K.J. Hill announced he's decided to return to school for his senior season. Now a fifth-year senior, Hill had been considered a strong candidate to declare for the draft after catching 70 passes for 885 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2018.

"First I would like to thank Coach Urban Meyer for giving me a chance to be a Buckeye. It was by far some of the best moments of my life," Hill wrote. "With that being said, and with the guidance and mentorship of Cris Carter, and my family, I have decided to take one last ride with my brothers, my coaches, and you, Buckeye Nation! I'm ready to help lead us to another National Championship. I will be returning for my senior year. Go Bucks!"

In returning to school, Hill will have the opportunity to improve his draft stock -- just as Parris Campbell seemingly did this past season when he became the first Ohio State player to record 1,000 receiving yards since the 2002 season. In its most recent rankings, WalterFootball.com slotted Hill as its No. 16 receiver, projecting the Little Rock, Ark., native to a be a third or fourth round pick.

While Hill will no longer have the benefit of playing alongside Haskins, he could very well still have an NFL talent throwing passes his way. Last week, former 5-star quarterback Justin Fields announced he'll be transferring to Ohio State, with the former Georgia signal-caller expected to seek immediate eligibility.
