CLEVELAND —  "You Said It" is a reader participation column based on the premise that if you don't laugh about Cleveland sports you'll cry.

And that if you do laugh about Cleveland sports, you might still end up crying. But at least friends and family will like being around you more.

YOU SAID IT

Bud: Have you tried that AgeChallenge app that makes people look older? Forgive me. But based on what I see in the bathroom mirror lately, I don’t think of it as a “challenge.” — Tim, C-Town.

I don’t pretend to speak for Cleveland, but after two years of Hue Jackson I don’t see the need.

Bud: So Colin Cowherd says the Browns will make the playoffs, then "crash hard." Is that supposed to be a negative take on the Browns? If so, I can only say, “Yes, please.” — Kevin.

It will be a tall order for Northeast Ohio therapists to help an entire fan base deal with a season that falls short of the Super Bowl.

Bud: Some analysts aren’t as high on the Browns as their peers. A few cite Freddie Kitchens status as a rookie head coach. Another wondered if Baker Mayfield would go through a sophomore slump. Are those valid concerns? — Scott.

The Kitchens part is. As for the other, that analyst just made Baker Mayfield’s list, and the guess is Chernobyl will be a garden paradise before he gets off it.

Bud: Coach Hue stated (in an interview) he did his best coaching in Cleveland! Is this why he is unemployed? — O. Bill Stone.

Hue figures if he doesn’t advocate for himself no one else will. And if he does, no one else will.

Bud: Have the Twins conceded yet? — Jim.

No. They have 10 good reasons not to concede, if I correctly counted the number of games remaining against the Tigers.

Bud: Did you ever consider using the Wonderlic test to rate your You Said It contributors? — Jim Walsh, Olmsted Falls.

No. The current rating system -- number of active restraining orders -- is still in effect.

Bud: Was OBJ’s ESPY Awards jumpsuit sponsored by Idaho Potatoes? — Jim Corrigan, Fairview Park.

You mean that wasn’t Teddy Ruxpin?

Bud: Only in Cleveland could we be talking about retiring a jersey JR Smith decided he didn't want to wear. — Bill.

You Said It “winners” never refuse to play even though it’s obvious YSI is in a rebuilding phase.
