Cleveland Browns coach Freddie Kitchens had some memorable quotes during the team's offseason kickoff press conferences.

CLEVELAND —  "You Said It" is a reader participation column based on the premise that if you don't laugh about Cleveland sports you'll cry.

And that if you do laugh about Cleveland sports, you might still end up crying. But at least friends and family will like being around you more.

YOU SAID IT

Bud: Freddie Kitchens used the term “whoop-dee-hell” to dismiss the notion that talent alone amounts to much in the NFL. How long before that’s a T-shirt we see all around town? — Tim, C-Town.

It beats the slogan of the Hue Jackson years: “...hell was that?”

Bud: Is it at all ominous that the Indians had a famous fourth outfielder throw out the first pitch on Opening Day? — Scott P.

Well, at least it was Wayne Kirby and not Ryan Raburn.

Bud: Now that the AAF folded, my joke became more relevant. Is Johnny gonna wreck THIS league too? -- Eddie Vidmar.

This is You Said It, sir. The only thing more out of place here than humor is relevance.

Bud: Odell Beckham said Monday might be looked back on as an "iconic" day in Browns history. Seemed a litle premature, no? All the Browns have consistently won now for the past 20 years is the press conference -- Kevin.

I appreciate his enthusiasm. But he's new around here. Until they win some big games together, the only thing to trust less than a statement like that coming from Berea is a statement like that coming from Berea on April Fool's.

Bud: The Browns seem more than willing to accommodate Odell Beckham's offseason schedule. Will this become a trend? I mean he didn't stay long in Berea Monday before leaving again, right? -- Bill.

It depends. Do you consider a flyover staying long?

Bud: Was the cap Freddie Kitchens wore at Odell Beckham’s introductory press conference a small preview of the upcoming new Browns uniforms? -- Jim Corrigan, Fairview Park.

Kitchens wearing an Indians cap was a peace offering. It was the Browns saying, "Sorry, we introduced one of the most famous athletes in the world an hour before your home opener. But we want you to know we're 100 percent behind Max Moroff."

Bud: Is it true the Indians are considering harnessing the energy from all the strikeouts to power the lights at Progressive Field? -- Bill from Stow.

Shhh. Trevor Bauer thinks he controls those with his mind.
