You voted, and we listened: WKYC.com will be headed to Chagrin Falls for our next High School Football Game of the Week as the Kenston Bombers host the Chardon Hilltoppers.
The matchup was the decisive winner of our weekly poll, earning more than three-quarters of the more than 1,600 votes cast. It's the first time this year we will feature any team from the Western Reserve Conference.
The 8-0 Bombers (5-0 WRC) have won all of their games by at least 14 points, including a 42-14 beat down of Painesville Riverside. They control their own destiny for the playoffs as the top seed in Division III, Region 9 after barely missing out last year.
For the Hilltoppers (5-3, 4-1 WRC), a huge 42-12 win last week over Lyndhurst Brush has moved them into the eighth and final playoff position in Region 9 for the moment. They are looking to avenge last year's 34-15 home loss to Kenston, which played a role in keeping them out of the D-III postseason.
Dave "Dino" DeNatale and special guest Mark "Munch" Bishop will call the game live via audio stream Friday night, with coverage starting at 6:55 p.m. on WKYC.com, the WKYC app, and the WKYC Facebook page. Additionally, video highlights will be featured later online and on the 11 o'clock news.
