We know Massillon has a proud football tradition, but this chapter has certainly never been written before.
The Tigers improved to 8-0 Friday night with an incredible 101-6 win over Sun Valley (Pennsylvania) that saw them score 56 points in the second quarter alone. According to The Repository in Canton, the point total breaks a school record that dated back nearly 100 years.
Top recruit Jamir Thomas led the way with 167 rushing yards (on just seven carries) and three touchdowns. Tre'Von Blake and Tyree Broyles also had punt and kick return scores, respectively. Sun Valley had a 3-4 record entering the contest.
Massillon's previous record for points in a game was 94, set back in 1922 in a win over Akron North (according to The Repository). The Tigers are currently ranked No. 1 in Division II, Region 7 and will hit the road to take on Louisville next week.
