MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio -- It was an extra early start for some students at Mayfield High School.
The football team hit the field before 6 a.m. for practice Wednesday so they could beat the heat.
It was done as a precaution because intense activity in extremely hot weather can easily lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
Temperatures are expected to hit 90+ degrees yet again before relief arrives in the days ahead.
