COLUMBUS, Ohio — St. Ignatius is on top of the Ohio high school hockey world once again.
Junior Joey Trobenter netted a hat trick to help the Wildcats rout Dublin Jerome, 7-2, and win their fourth consecutive state championship.
Ignatius raced out to a 4-0 advantage early in the second period behind two goals from Trobenter. Jerome cut the deficit in half with a pair of scores, but the Wildcats slammed the door shut behind three unanswered goals to secure a blowout victory.
St. Ignatius outscored its Frozen Four opponents 14-2 in a two-day span.
