Channel 3 Sports is proud to continue its “Student-athlete Shout out” feature series during the 2016-17 school year. Each installment will spotlight the recent accomplishments of a deserving Northeast Ohio high school athlete.

Shaker Heights senior midfielder Brendan Frothingham

Shaker Heights High School senior midfielder Brendan Frothingham is a leader of the Raiders’ state-ranked soccer team.

The Raiders entered the week with an unblemished 12-0-0 record and are ranked third in the latest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Division I state poll.

Heading into the team’s 2-1 loss at Brunswick last night, Frothingham had recorded five goals and three assists on the season.

“Brendan is one of our senior captains and the heartbeat of our team,” head coach Alan Naigeon said. “He never stops running. Our guys know with Brendan they have a genuine leader who cares about them and this team and who will lead them by example.”

Frothingham has earned all-academic recognition each of the past two seasons. He was named a first-team All-Greater Cleveland Conference selection following his junior campaign.
