UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — The John Carroll Blue Streaks overcame a fourth-quarter deficit to defeat rival Baldwin Wallace, 45-35, for the sixth consecutive year and set the table for a Divsion III playoff berth.
Trailing 35-34 with less than seven minutes remaining, the Blue Streaks closed the game with 11 unanswered points.
Sophomore running back Mike Canganelli had a huge day for John Carroll, rumbling for 270 yards on 35 carries (7.7 YPC) and three touchdowns.
Junior quarterback Anthony Moeglin also had a big day with his feet, rushing for 101 yards on 14 attempts (7.2 YPC) with a pair of scores.
The Blue Streaks spoiled a monster day by Baldwin Wallace quarterback Jake Hudson, who completed 32 of 45 attempts for 350 yards, 5 touchdowns and just 1 interception.
John Carroll (9-1), ranked 8th in the nation entering week 10, is expected to receive an at-large playoff berth Sunday. Baldwin Wallace finishes the regular season 8-2.
