The Cleveland Indians' bullpen will possess a different look in 2018.
One day after reliever Bryan Shaw reportedly agreed to a 3-year deal with the Colorado Rockies, the Indians announced they have traded Shawn Armstrong to the Seattle Mariners. In return, Cleveland will receive $500,000 in international bonus pool money for the 2017-18 period.
Originally drafted by the Indians in the 18th round of the 2011 draft, Armstrong split his 2017 season between Cleveland and Triple-A Columbus. In 21 relief appearances with the Tribe, the right-hander earned a 1-0 record to go along with a 4.38 earned run average.
