José Ramírez powers Cleveland Indians past Cincinnati Reds 13-0

J-Ram hit two home runs & the Tribe scored 10 in the seventh inning.

CLEVELAND — (AP) José Ramírez homered from both sides of the plate and drove in four runs, and the Cleveland Indians routed the Cincinnati Reds 13-0.

Ramírez hit a solo drive batting from the left side against Luis Castillo in the first inning. He connected again during Cleveland's 10-run seventh, belting a two-run drive off left-hander Cody Reed.

J-Ram also homered from both sides of the plate during a 9-2 victory over Kansas City on July 26. According to STATS, he is the first player in major league history to accomplish the feat twice within his team's first 15 games of the season.

The offensive explosive was much-needed for the Tribe, which came in averaging less than three runs per game. Franmil Reyes continued to heat up with two hits and two RBIs, while Cesar Hernandez added a three-run double.

Starter Carlos Carrasco went eight shutout innings and struck out eight to pick up his second win of the year. The 33-year-old looked sharp as ever less than a year after undergoing treatment for leukemia.

The Indians (8-6) will begin a three-game series in Chicago against the White Sox Friday night, while the Reds (5-8) head to Milwaukee to face the Brewers.
