Monday marks the 60-year anniversary of Rocky Colavito's 4-home run game with the Cleveland Indians

It was June 10, 1959 that Rocky Colavito hit four consecutive home runs with the Cleveland Indians.

Sixty years ago on Monday, Rocky Colavito stepped to the plate against the Baltimore Orioles and hit a home run.

And then he hit another.

And then he hit another.

And then he hit another.

By the time the Indians' 11-8 victory over the first-place Orioles was over, the All-Star right fielder had hit four home runs -- in four consecutive at-bats -- becoming the eighth player in Major League Baseball history at the time to go yard four times in one game. In what would go down as one of the best seasons of his career, Colavito would go on to hit an American League-best 42 home runs -- nearly 10 percent of which came in a single game.

With the 2019 MLB All-Star Game coming to Cleveland next month, Colavito will return to the city where spent eight seasons of his 14-year career. On July 5, the KeyBank State Theatre will host "The Return of Rocky Colavito: A Night Featuring the All-Time Great Cleveland Indians Player."

The event will be moderated by Indians Senior VP for Public Affairs Bob DiBiasio and feature "Bleacher Drummer" John J. Adams and author Mark Sommer. On July 31, Sommer will release his autobiography on Colavito, titled "Rocky Colavito: Cleveland's Iconic Slugger," which will detail the slugger's "origins in an Italian immigrant family, his close friendships with Herb Score and Roger Maris, and his rise through the minors to become one of the Cleveland Indians’ most beloved players."

Tickets for the event run between $38.50 and $68.50 with a limited number of V.I.P. tickets available for $125. Tickets can be purchased at playhousesquare.org.
