CLEVELAND — While we here in Northeast Ohio brace for the coming winter storm this weekend, one of the area's most beloved athletes is basking on the beach!

On Friday, Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber posted a picture on Instagram of himself throwing on the beach in beautiful, sunny Bermuda. His message: "No worries about winter storms here."

Some guys have all the luck.

Kluber's vacation in Bermuda comes while being the subject of numerous trade rumors in the offseason. The latest one came earlier this week, when a report from The Athletic indicated the Padres were interested in acquiring the two-time Cy Young Award winner, then flipping him to another team.

Earlier this winter, the Reds, Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers were among several teams who reportedly made inquiries into Kluber’s availability, but no deals ever came to fruition despite “intensifying talks” of a deal between Cleveland and Los Angeles at the 2018 Winter Meetings in Las Vegas in December.

In his 33 starts last season, Kluber (20-7) registered 222 strikeouts against just 34 walks, 179 hits and 69 earned runs allowed over 215.0 innings of work while anchoring a pitching staff that led the way to the Indians’ third consecutive AL Central Division Championship.
