Cleveland police locate Guardians manager Terry Francona's scooter after it was stolen from his residence

Officers located the bike Tuesday night on Lakeside Avenue.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland fans are breathing a sigh of relief.

Police confirm they have located Guardians manager Terry Francona's iconic scooter after it was stolen from his residence over the weekend. Officials say members of the department's traffic unit found the vehicle within the 2100 block of Lakeside Avenue East Tuesday night.

Authorities as well as the baseball club confirmed to 3News that the scooter was parked outside Francona's downtown apartment building Friday night and was considered missing as of Saturday morning. It is unknown if any suspects have been identified in the case.

Francona's scooter has become part of his legacy with Cleveland, and he has been spotted by fans riding it home after games at Progressive Field. The organization once even featured a bobblehead with Francona riding his bike as a game day giveaway.

The scooter heist on the heels of Guards Fest, which brought players and fans together at the Huntington Convention Center over the weekend. Francona was among those who appeared at the event.
