DETROIT — Tributes to the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant are going on all across the league on Monday.
The Cavaliers and Pistons each honored Bryant in their own unique way at the start of their game in Detroit.
The Pistons players wore numbers 8 and 24 in warmups, the two numbers that Bryant made famous during his 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers.
When the Cavaliers won the opening tip, they let the shot clock run out from 24 seconds, a salute to #24.
Also on Monday, the NBA released a statement saying they will be delaying the Tuesday Jan. 28 game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Clippers at Staples Center.
The NBA says the organization has made the decision "out of respect for the Lakers." The team is still dealing with "the tragic loss of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant." They are said to be still "deeply grieving."
Bryant, his daughter, and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash near Los Angeles Sunday morning. The cause of the crash remains unknown and the chopper was flying in very foggy conditions.
Investigators and coroner's personnel are working on the rugged hillside outside Los Angeles where a helicopter carrying Bryant and eight others crashed in foggy conditions considered dangerous enough that local police agencies grounded their choppers.
Aviation experts said the crash may have been caused by the pilot becoming disoriented in the fog.
