Cleveland Cavaliers announce 2021 preseason schedule

The Cavs will play five exhibition games, including two at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers released their preseason schedule on Thursday that features a slate of five exhibition games, including two at home.

The preseason for the Cavs will tip off with back-to-back road games at Chicago (Oct. 5) and at Atlanta (Oct. 6). The Cavs will then play two home games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse against the Indiana Pacers (Oct. 8) and the Chicago Bulls (Oct. 10). Both games at home will tip off at 7 p.m. The Cavs will then conclude their preseason schedule on October 15 at Indiana.

The preseason will give Cavs fans their first look at rookie Evan Mobley. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft is a 7-foot, 210-pound center with exceptional athleticism, a strong playmaking prowess and promising upside as a shooter. Appearing in 33 games during his lone season at USC, the 20-year-old big man averaged 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.9 blocks en route to being named the Pac-12's Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, as well as a consensus second-team All-American.

In joining the Cavs, Mobley joins a young core that currently includes Cleveland's previous three lottery picks in guards Collin Sexton and Darius Garland and forward Isaac Okoro. Center Jarrett Allen was signed to a long-term contract this summer.

Ticket information will be revealed at a later date. The Cavs 2021-22 regular season schedule is set to be announced on Friday.
