Cleveland Cavaliers to debut 'City Edition' uniforms vs. Charlotte Hornets

The Cleveland Cavaliers will debut their blue and orange 'City Edition' uniforms on Tuesday night.

CLEVELAND -- For many, the Cleveland Cavaliers' new 'City Edition' uniforms have been a polarizing look.

But for Cavs forward-center Larry Nance Jr., the duds the Cavs will debut against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night are far from controversial.

"Obviously I'm biased, but I love them. I love them. Even when the Cavs, a couple of years ago, brought back the blue jerseys, I was a big fan," Nance, whose father, Larry Nance Sr. wore blue and orange on a nightly basis during his playing days in Cleveland from 1987-1994, told Fox Sports Ohio. "I'm very partial to the blue, white and orange."

In addition to their blue and orange throwback color scheme, the Cavs' 'City Edition' threads will pay homage to the team's uniforms of the mid-late-90s, with a 'splash' design across their chests and shorts. The jerseys also feature the team's current numerical font, Cleveland's tourism script across the chest, as well as a "1 of 5 Greats" tag to represent Lake Erie's place among the Great Lakes.

"Obviously I've been a Cavs fan for quite a while and even going back to the Andre Miller days where they had the slash on it like we do now, I think it's really cool to see," Nance said. "I'm really excited to debut it."

On Tuesday night, Quicken Loans Arena will also debut a new court design, which it will use for each game the team wears the jerseys.

Including for the first time on Tuesday night, the Cavs will wear their City Edition jerseys six times this season. They will replace last season's gray and gold City Edition jerseys, with Nike expected to give each team a new edition of the alternates on an annual basis.

Betsy Kling got a preview of the City Edition on Tuesday as she chatted with the Chief Marketing Officer of the Cavaliers, Tracy Marek, before the game with the Hornets.
