CHARLOTTE, N.C. — (AP) Taurean Prince scored a season-high 25 points with six 3-pointers, Jarrett Allen had 15 points and eight rebounds in his first action since March 26 and the Cleveland Cavaliers handed the Charlotte Hornets their third straight loss at home Wednesday night, 103-90.
Kevin Love added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Cavs (20-32), who snapped a two-game skid. Terry Rozier had 22 points, eight assists and seven rebounds to lead the Hornets (27-27), while Miles Bridges added 20 points.
It was Allen's first action since suffering a concussion against the Lakers and sitting out eight games. The 22-year-old center was able to play 30 minutes, more than all but two Cleveland players.
Larry Nance Jr. also returned after missing seven straight games with a "mystery illness," tallying five points and four steals in 20 minutes of action. The Cavs were once again without leading scorer Collin Sexton, who missed his second straight contest with a groin injury.
With just 18 games left, the Cavaliers now sit just 2 1/2 games behind the Chicago Bulls for the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference, which would put them in a play-in tournament for a trip to the NBA playoffs. Cleveland will be back home Thursday night to face the Golden State Warriors at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
