Over the course of the last month, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has enlisted some of the state's biggest celebrities to share messages of support amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
On Friday, it was Kevin Love joining the chorus, with the Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward sharing a video message aimed at frontline professionals and essential workers.
"You guys -- and I mean the first responders, the medical staff, everybody working at the hospitals, the grocery store workers, the pharmacy workers, you guys are our true heroes. You guys are having to sacrifice so much during this time. So we thank you," Love said. "We really do from the bottom of our heart and knowing that moving forward, we need more people like you."
Love continued: "We will get through this as a country and as people of Ohio. And it's going to be a fight. We need to continue to adhere to all these guidelines as I mentioned, but we will get through it and we will come out a stronger Ohio."
Last month, Love donated $100,000 aimed at helping employees at the Cavs' home arena, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, after the NBA indefinitely suspended its season.
Dating back to the discovery of Ohio's first positive coronavirus case on March 9, DeWine has put a number of measures in place to encourage physical distancing, including a stay-at-home order since March 23. On Thursday, DeWine announced the state would begin reopening its economy on May 1, with details on how the state will approach that process still to come.
